GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) ---The Green Bay volleyball team took home their third-straight win of the season with a 3-0 (25-11, 25-23, 25-23) win over Fresno State.

This was the Phoenix best performance of the early season with the team clicking on all cylinders.  Green Bay's efficiency offensively was a major key in securing the victory with the Phoenix logging 44 kills compared to the Bulldogs 26.  Junior Taylor Wolf continues to produce at the net for Green Bay, recording 15 kills in the match.  Juniors Ashley Sledge and Kristen Paulus added 9 and 7 kills respectively as well.  Senior Maddie Yoss finished with 33 of the 39 assist and is now only 44 away from reaching 4,000 for her career.
 
Set one (25-11) was controlled by Green Bay throughout.  The Phoenix started the set on a 5-0 run, and then went on a 12-0 run after the Bulldogs scored twice in a row.  Green Bay recorded a hitting percentage of .333, while Fresno State's was -.118.  The Bulldogs added 9 attacking errors in the set to help the Phoenix secure the set.
 
Set two (25-23) was much closer than the previous, but Green Bay's defense led the way in winning it.  The Phoenix had 11 digs in the set and added 8 block-assist.  Green Bay's 15 kills compared to Fresno State's 11 chipped in to winning the second set.
 
Set three (25-23) saw Green Bay go down early 4-1.  However, the Phoenix went on a 5-0 run to retake the lead, which grew to as high as 17-10.  The Bulldogs fought their way back into the set but the Phoenix held steady to claim the set and the match.
 
Once again, the defense came to play for the Phoenix.  Freshman libero Brenna Hesse had a career-high 16 digs, and senior defensive specialist Emily Lautenschlager contributed 7 of her own.  Juniors Anna Eaton and Ashley Sledge ceased control at the net defensively for Green Bay tallying 8 of the team's 16 block-assist on the night.  Taylor Wolf added 3 block-assist during the match also.

The Phoenix finish the GBD Invite tomorrow afternoon (September 1^st) at 1:00PM CT against Indiana State.
