Green Bay to Host Drake, Visit North Dakota State in Nonconference Action

11/12/2020 2:28:00 PM

GREEN BAY --- The Green Bay women's basketball team is scheduled to play three nonconference games this season, hosting Drake on November 28 to open the season and visiting North Dakota State for a back-to-back series in Fargo on December 5 and 6.

The trio of games will precede the start to the Horizon League season for the Phoenix, which starts on December 12 and 13 at home against Milwaukee. The league schedule was announced last week, and no fans will be allowed at home games through at least December.

vs. Drake | Saturday, November 28 | Kress Center
GB will open the 2020-21 season at home against the Bulldogs, which went 22-8 last season and 14-4 in the Missouri Valley Conference. The two teams last met in 2016, when the Phoenix won 71-48 at the Kress Center. GB leads the all-time series 5-2.

at North Dakota State | Saturday and Sunday, December 5 and 6 | Fargo, ND
The Phoenix will play at doubleheader against the Bison in Fargo, a team it hasn't faced since the 2011-12 season. GB has never lost to NDSU, holding a perfect 5-0 record all-time. The two teams agreed to play one another in back to back days, limiting travel for the Phoenix allowing them to stay at one location throughout the trip to North Dakota.

GB will return to Drake in the 2022-23 season, and will host NDSU each of the next two seasons as part of the agreements.

These nonconference games give Green Bay 23 scheduled games for the 2020-21 season, which will be unlike any other in program history.
