GREEN BAY, Wis. — In polls voted on by the head coaches, the Horizon League has released its preseason polls for both the men's and women's golf sides, with the GB women landing third and the men sixth.
The Phoenix women's team is coming off an impressive fall season, that saw the team finish in the top four in six of its fall tournaments. GB claimed the Mastodon Invite, and placed runner-up in the Golden Grizzlies Invite and the Charles Braun Intercollegiate in the final tournament of the fall.
Alix Larson serves as the lone senior for the Phoenix, which boasts a young and upcoming roster.
Lori Meyer led GB this fall with a 78 scoring average.
The women's team will compete in the Eastern Kentucky Colonel Classic (March 30-March 31) in Richmond, KY., the Indiana State Spring Invitational (April 5-April 6) in Terre Haute, Ind. and the Northern Iowa Spring Invitational (April 11-April 12) in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
The GB men will have the opportunity to surprise the HL coaches, which picked them sixth in the eight-team league. GB finished sixth at the HL Championships last season, and returns the bulk of its team from a year ago. The team is coming off a fall where senior

Lee Reinke is excited to see how the spring plays out with Kneiser hitting his stride along with Gilles and Sarauer, to see who steps up and anchors themselves into the four and five spot.
The men's team will participate in the Grover Page Classic (March 9-10) in Jackson, Tenn., the Butler Spring Invitational (March 30-March 31) in Indianapolis, Ind., the Big Blue Invitational (April 13-April 14) in Nashville, Tenn. and the Wright State Invitational (April 19-April 20) in Springboro, Ohio.
The program recently unveiled a new indoor golf space, which will help the team improve its all-around game heading into the spring season. The space added over the winter break is complete with hitting nets, mats, a 200 square foot putting green with six holes, and a chipping/putting surface measuring 24x60 feet. The ability to putt and chip has already put the team ahead of any previous year, which gives everyone more ability to hopefully hit the ground running.
Both programs will take a team training trip to Bishop's Gate in Orlando, Fla. from Saturday March 14 to Saturday March 21.
The Horizon League Championships for both squads will take place in Orlando Fla. as well from Sunday April 26 to Tuesday April 28.
