Green Bay Falls in Doubleheader at UT-Martin

Martin, Tenn. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) — Green Bay's stretch of seven games in four days began this afternoon in Tennessee, as the Phoenix took the diamond at UT-Martin for a doubleheader.

GB was on the board in the first inning of each game, but the Skyhawks managed to get its offense going down the stretch for victories in both contests.

The Skyhawks' offense erupted in game one, plating a total of nine runs in the third and fourth innings.

The offenses wasted no time getting things going in the second game of the day, matching run for run through the first inning at 4-4.

Rebecca Radtke was a bright spot for the Phoenix, finishing 2-for-4 at the plate with a home run and a total of three RBIs, one of which was the go-ahead run in the fifth inning after Radtke doubled down the left field line to bring Tiffany Giese around to score and put GB on top, 5-4.

The Skyhawks would wait until the sixth inning to respond but would do so in a big way, bringing in four runs to lead thing 8-5 with the Phoenix down to its final three outs.

GB was unable to pull even, falling 8-5 in game two of the doubleheader.

Kalyssa Koehn also notched two RBIs in the matchup with a double to left center.

The Phoenix returns to the diamond tomorrow at 9 a.m. in the WKU Hilltopper Classic.
