Green Bay Women's Basketball Announces Addition of Sydney Levy to Phoenix Roster

4/15/2020 8:13:00 AM

GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – The Green Bay women's basketball program has announced the addition of Sydney Levy, a former Wisconsin standout who led Appleton North to back-to-back WIAA State titles in 2017 and 2018.

Levy garnered attention on a national scale coming out of high school and was named to the Associated Press and WBCA First-Team All-State as a senior. She was two-time Appleton Post Crescent Player of the Year as well as a McDonald's All-American nominee.

Levy joins the Phoenix as a transfer from Milwaukee, where she appeared in all 31 games for the Panthers and made 12 starts. She led the team in three-pointers and averaged 7.0 points, 2.4 rebounds and one assist per game as a sophomore.

As it stands currently, Levy will have to sit out of competition for the 2020-21 season but will have two years of eligibility remaining.

Sydney Levy
High School: Appleton North
Previous School: Milwaukee
Hometown: Oshkosh, Wis.
Height: 5'8''
Position: Guard

Borseth on Levy: "We are very excited about Sydney's decision to join us. Academics play a huge part into the decision of today's student-athletes, and Sydney's desire to pursue secondary education fits perfectly into Green Bay. As a player, we have always had the utmost respect for Sydney and what she brings to her teams. We anticipate nothing less in her remaining time at Green Bay. And even though she will have to sit a year, that will give her time to make adjustments into life here. I look forward working with her."

Levy on Green Bay: "I am so excited to officially be a Phoenix and to join such a great program. I am really excited to play for Coach Borseth and am looking forward to continuing the success he has had here at Green Bay."

Green Bay will also welcome four freshmen to the roster in the upcoming 2020-21 season, as Ellie Foster, Caelan Givens, Jasmine Kondrakiewicz and Kendall Renard all inked national letters of intent this past fall.
