GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) --- Head coach Kevin Borseth announced the addition of former Phoenix standout, Mehryn Kraker, to his coaching staff ahead of the 2020-21 season.
 
"Mehryn is passionate about the Green Bay community, the University and our program," Borseth said. "She grew up here and understands what it takes to be successful at this level. She has always handled herself in a very professional manner and can be a resource for our student-athletes. She also brings collegiate and professional experience which will serve our players and program well. We are all very excited to have Mehryn join our staff."
 
Kraker, a graduate of UW-Green Bay in 2017, returns to her home state of Wisconsin after a successful professional career overseas.
 
"I would like to thank head coach Kevin Borseth, athletics director Charles Guthrie and the rest of the search committee for placing your confidence in me," Kraker said. "I'm so thankful to be returning to the University and community that gave me so much. I can't wait to give back and be a mentor to our student-athletes."
 
As a student-athlete, Kraker received numerous accolades and left her mark on the program. She was named the Horizon League Player of the Year and espnW's Mid-Major Player of the Year in 2017. She was also selected in the WNBA draft following her senior season by the Washington Mystics at No. 27 overall, becoming just the second player in program history to hear her name called.

Kraker ranks third on the program's all-time scoring list and has the record for most three-pointers made in a career. She also received the Cecil N. Coleman Medal of Honor, which is the Horizon League's highest individual honor presented annually to the League's top male and female student-athletes who best exemplify the dignity and high purpose of the League and its membership.
