GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) --- Green Bay's stellar play continued Saturday at the Kress Center, with the Phoenix securing a weekend sweep of Oakland and its third-straight win in an 87-78 victory.
Amari Davis led all scorers in the matchup with 25 points.
Green Bay was forced to play from behind for nearly the entire first half, but a game-defining 22-3 run for the Phoenix saw the Green and White take control. The run spanned over 6 minutes, 17 seconds and was led by
Josh Jefferson who scored seven of his 19 points during that span.
The Phoenix defense stifled Oakland's attack, as the Golden Grizzlies were limited to just 1-for-10 from the floor and surrendered a trio of turnovers.
GB's 87 points is its second-highest total of the season, only behind its 91-point effort against Eastern Illinois in double overtime.
Following the run, Green Bay's advantage was seven points at 64-57.
The Golden Grizzlies would battle back to come within two after a jumper from Jalen Moore fell through the net, 64-62, but another run from the Phoenix offense would put GB ahead by double figures (76-64) after a triple from Davis fell with 5:02 remaining.
Green Bay would eventually go on to earn an 87-78 victory behind three double-figure scorers and 37 points from its bench.
Up next on the Phoenix schedule is a trip to Detroit Mercy, where the team will take the hardwood at Calihan Hall for games on Friday and Saturday.
