GREEN BAY, WI --The Green Bay volleyball team got the job done in straight sets (25-17, 25-14, 25-23) to beat the Youngstown State Penguins Thursday at home at Kress Events Center.
The conference win improved Green Bay's record to 9-11 overall and 4-4 in Horizon play.
Tiffany Paalman finished with 11 kills on the day to lead the Phoenix attack while finishing with a hitting percentage of .45.Alexandra Zakutney also pitched in with five in the contest. GB got 11 digs from Iro Chounta to lead them defensively.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Phoenix took control on the first point and never trailed to win the first set 25-17. Green Bay opened up its biggest lead, eight points, to close out the set.
SET 2 | Green Bay carried momentum from a set-one win by earning a 25-14 victory in the second set. The Phoenix grabbed the set thanks to a solid showing on the attacking end. Green Bay put together a .480 attack percentage with 15 kills in the set win. The Phoenix ended on a strong note, stretching their lead to its largest point in the set to finish out the stanza. The Green Bay offense also got a boost from three aces in the stanza.
SET 3 | Green Bay finished off the match in a 3-0 sweep after grabbing set three. The Phoenix took the lead for good at 24-23 in a set that showcased two lead changes before Green Bay took over in the second half of the stanza. They then carried that lead to a 25-23 set win. The Green Bay offense also got a boost from three aces in the stanza.
