GREEN BAY, Wis. – Annie Mason of the Green Bay women's soccer team was named the Nike Horizon League Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
Mason led the Phoenix to a huge 1-0 win over Northern Kentucky Saturday afternoon. The Junior made five saves against the Norse and recorded her seventh shutout of the season. Mason currently sits second in the Horizon League save percentage leaderboard, saving .815 of the shots she's faced this year.
Coming up, the Phoenix will travel to Milwaukee for their final regular season game on Wednesday, October 27 at 7 PM. Depending on results around the league on Wednesday, Green Bay could be hosting a Horizon League Quarterfinals game on Sunday, October 31 at 1 PM. Currently, the Phoenix would enter the Horizon League Tournament as the No. 4 seed and host No. 5 Purdue Fort Wayne.
