GREEN BAY, Wis. - Iro Chounta and Alexandra Zakutney both notched double-doubles, but the Green Bay volleyball team fell to the Milwaukee Panthers 3-1 (32-30, 22-25, 19-25, 21-25) Monday at the Kress Events Center.
The loss dropped Green Bay's record to 11-13 overall and 6-6 in Horizon action.
The Phoenix was led by Chounta, who had 11 kills and 14 digs, and Zakutney, who had 14 kills and 12 digs. Shannon Coughlin added 12 kills to help the attack. On the defensive end, Abby Gardner chipped in for GB with 12 digs to go with three blocks from Tiffany Paalman and Anna Eaton.

HOW IT HAPPENED
SET 1 | The Phoenix persevered in a back-and-forth first set to win 32-30 in a stanza that featured eight lead changes and was tied 17 times. Neither team led by more than three points in the match. The Phoenix opening set win came in a frame where 19 of their 32 points came via the kill.
SET 2 | Green Bay dropped set two 25-22 to tie the match 1-1. The Phoenix dropped set two despite a strong showing on the attacking side. Green Bay put together a .325 attack percentage with 16 kills in the set loss.
SET 3 | The Phoenix lost again in the third set to make it a 2-1 deficit. Green Bay trailed by as many as six points as Milwaukee grabbed the advantage for good at 13-12 in a set that was tied up four times before the Panthers took over the lead.
SET 4 | Green Bay lost the fourth set and the match, falling 25-21. The Phoenix dropped a back-and-forth set, losing in a stanza that featured eight lead changes and was tied 13 times. Neither team opened up a lead of more than four points along the way.
