GREEN BAY, Wis. – Donavan Short has signed a National Letter of Intent with the Green Bay men's basketball team, head coach
Will Ryan announced today.
"We are beyond thrilled to have Donavan stay home and join our Green Bay Phoenix Basketball family," Ryan said. "Being a local kid, we look forward to Donavan proudly representing UWGB, our basketball program, and Northeast Wisconsin to the fullest."
"Donavan is the perfect fit for our style of play," Ryan continued. "He's a skilled big man who has the ability to play inside and out as well as pose match-up problems for opponents in a multitude of ways. We are extremely fortunate to add not only a great basketball player but a high-character student-athlete in Donavan. His potential is through the roof as we believe he will help assist in taking Green Bay Basketball to new heights."
Short, a 6-10 forward from Denmark, Wis. will add to the strong Wisconsin presence Ryan has already established since taking over the program. Short is coming off a junior season where he averaged 21.7 points and 8.8 rebounds en route to a Division 3 First Team All-State selection. Short is rated as the No. 9 ranked player in his class in the state of Wisconsin.
