GREEN BAY, Wis. – Green Bay women's soccer head coach Jason Spain announced his resignation Friday (Nov. 5) morning. Spain served as the program's head coach since 2019.
"I have decided to resign from UWGB for health and family reasons," Spain said. "The stress of Division I coaching that I put on myself has taken its toll on my health and my family. My kids are growing and I want to enjoy them before they are gone."
Julie Grutzner will continue to serve as interim head coach of the program. A national search will begin immediately.
GB's season ended on Thursday in the Horizon League Tournament semifinals, when the team fell 2-0 at No. 1 seed Milwaukee.
