GREEN BAY, Wis, (GreenBayPhoenix.com) ---
Amari Davis scored a game-high 26 points on Friday night at the Kress Center, but it wasn't enough to negate the long range success of IUPUI. The Jaguars finished 10-for-20 from long range and knocked down 22 free throws to help defeat the Phoenix, 80-71.
IUPUI jumped out to an early advantage, scoring nine of the first 11 points. Green Bay overcame the slow start and led 34-31 by halftime after shooting 53.6% (15-for-28) in the first 20 minutes.
After being held scoreless in the first half, IUPUI's Marcus Burk began to take things over for the Jaguars. Burk made five shots in the second half, including four from the arc, and 11 free throws.
Davis hit a jumper with 3 minutes, 46 seconds remaining to put the Phoenix in front by one, but it was all Jaguars from there.
IUPUI went on to secure an 80-71 victory and snap GB's four-game winning streak at home.
The game totaled 20 lead changes and nine ties.
Davis, who scored 20+ points for the third-straight game and eighth time this season, was joined in double figures by
Emmanuel Ansong (15 pts) and
PJ Pipes (13 pts).
Green Bay takes the court against IUPUI again tomorrow at the Kress Center, with tip-off slate for 4 p.m.
