GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) --- Green Bay fell in double overtime at Northern Kentucky on Friday afternoon, as the Norse found the back of the net in the 106th minute to steal a 3-2 victory and secure three points.
The Phoenix wasted no time getting its offense rolling, as
Lorenzo Battagliarin beat the keeper high-center to jump out to a 1-0 lead.
Bernard Assibey Rhule played the ball to Battagliarin which led to the GB goal.
Northern Kentucky answered with back-to-back goals in the 37th and 41st minute to secure a lead as halftime arrived.
The game-tying goal was provided from
Paul Mues in the 64th minute after
Ezau Millan set up the score and allowed Mues to fire the ball low and away.
The Norse scored the game-winning heartbreaker in the 106th minute after NKU's Ryan Godding went high right and past the sure hands of
Jamison Yoder.
Green Bay returns to the friendly confines of Aldo Santaga Stadium on Thursday, March 18 with kickoff slated for 1 p.m.
