GREEN BAY — Winning an exciting fifth set 15-12 after trailing 2-1 in the match, the Green Bay volleyball team rallied back to beat Purdue Fort Wayne 3-2 at the Kress Center on Senior Day. A trio of Phoenix seniors were honored after the thrilling win, with

After the Phoenix (4-8) won a tight opening set 26-24, the Mastodons (8-4) took the next two 25-18 and 25-17, before GB mounted its comeback. The Phoenix dominated the fourth set, hitting .457 as a team, totaling 19 kills over that set.
Green Bay needed a comeback again in the fifth set, trailing 10-7, and rallied to win six of the next seven points to grab control at 13-11.
Alexandra Zakutney scored the final two points of the match, smashing a kill and serving up an ace that saw just one touch on the next serve.
Zakutney led the Phoenix with 23 kills on 59 swings, adding seven digs as well. The senior Eaton was second on the team with 12 kills, with fellow seniors following her with Sledge and Paulus, who finished with nine and seven kills respectively.
Calli Gentry controlled the GB attack with 52 assists and seven digs, adding three blocks.
Annelise Sparks racked up 17 digs and
Kayla Lass added nine to help the defensive effort.
Green Bay will now hit the road for its final four matches of the season, starting with a trip to UIC next Monday and Tuesday.
