Women's Soccer Continues Homestand with Detroit Mercy

3/9/2021 3:21:00 PM

GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) --- The Green Bay women's soccer team readies for its second match of the season on Wednesday, as the Phoenix welcomes Detroit Mercy to Aldo Santaga Stadium for a 1 p.m. kickoff. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+.

LAST TIME OUT
After seeing its first four matches of the season canceled, Green Bay's wait for game action came to an end on last Wednesday as the Phoenix welcomed Northern Kentucky to the friendly confines of Aldo Santaga Stadium. The Norse, who were already in mid-season form with four games under their belt, held on for a 3-1 victory. Caitlin Hawley found the net on a cross from Morgan Myers for the first Phoenix goal of the season, and GB owned a 15-13 advantage in shots taken.

SCOUTING THE TITANS
Detroit Mercy enters Wednesday's contest with a 1-2-1 record on the season. The Titans picked up a victory in its season opener with Youngstown State but have struggled a bit as of late, finding the back of the net only once in their three most recent matches. Three members have scored one goal each for the Michigan-based program, while Marisa Silve has played every minute protecting the net and owns a 1.18 goals-against average.
