CHICAGO - The Green Bay volleyball team fell in straight sets (25-21, 25-23, 25-22) to UIC at the Flames Athletic Center on Tuesday night. GB constructed leads in the first two sets, but the Flames were able to battle back and secure wins before holding off the Phoenix in the final game.
UIC improves to 11-1 on the season and a perfect 8-0 at home, while Green Bay moves to 4-10.
The hosts hit .298 (50k-14e-121a) as a team and the Green and White finished hitting .261 (44k-15e-111a) as a squad.
Alexandra Zakutney notched another double-double for Green Bay with 10 kills and 13 digs. Shannon Coughlin and Iro Chounta also registered 10 kills apiece while Calli Gentry directed the offense with 37 assists.
Next up for Green Bay is the final series of the season, as the Phoenix heads to Dayton, Ohio, for two matches with league-leading Wright State on March 22.
