GAME 1 | Oakland 4, Green Bay 2
ROCHESTER, Mich. --The Green Bay Phoenix put together an admirable performance on Friday, but ultimately came up short, falling to the Oakland Golden Grizzlies by the score of 4-2.
Junior Kayla Schwebke (7-5) started and took the loss in the circle for Green Bay (14-9, 9-6). Freshman Gabby Paliska was a bright spot out of the bullpen, going 2.2 shutout innings while allowing one hit, walking none and striking out one.
Freshman Becca Edwards led the way offensively for the Phoenix, going 1-for-3 in the ballgame with a double and two RBIs. Freshman Samantha Saloun provided a standout performance at the plate as well, going 2-for-3.
THE RUNDOWN
The Phoenix got the scoring started early, putting two runs on the board in the top of the first inning. Green Bay scored twice on a two-run double off the bat of Edwards. The Phoenix were unable to hold the lead, as Oakland scored four times over the remaining six innings to grab the 4-2 win.

Sophomore Tiffany Giese strung together three hits, but the Green Bay Phoenix fell to the Oakland Golden Grizzlies 8-1 In the second game of the day.
Sophomore Brittany Baneck (5-1) got the ball to start for Green Bay (14-10, 9-7) and suffered her first loss of the season.
Giese's three-hit day led the Phoenix offensively. Freshman Becca Edwards put together a noteworthy performance as well, going 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Freshman Bailey Schultz also helped out for Green Bay, putting together one hit in three trips to the plate while adding a double.
