CLEVELAND SUCCESS
Green Bay has held the upper hand against Cleveland State, having won three-straight games in the series and undefeated overall in the last five meetings (two draws). GB beat CSU 2-1 in the spring, 1-0 in 2019 and 2-1 in 2018; with the team looking to make it four in a row on Saturday night and six-straight unbeaten against the Vikings. GB hasn't lost to CSU since 2015, when the Vikings won 1-0 in Green Bay. 

LAST TIME OUT
Chicago State scored eight minutes into the first overtime of a scoreless draw last Friday, handing GB the 1-0 defeat. The Phoenix dominated the game in the stat sheets and controlled possession throughout, but couldn't find that breakthrough goal. GB will still play three more nonconference matches this season, hosting St. Thomas and Northern Illinois and traveling to Eastern Illinois. 

ALUMNI WEEKEND
The program will welcome back numerous alumni this weekend, to support the team and return to campus. The Green Bay men's soccer program started back in 1969 as one of the inaugural sports in the Phoenix athletics portfolio. Lou LeCalsey was the first-ever head coach and the first year in Division I came in 1981 under legendary head coach Aldo Santaga. 

ABOUT CLEVELAND STATE
The Vikings, picked just ahead of GB at 6th in the preseason poll below, enter Saturday night 1-2-0 but coming off a home win over St. Bonaventure on Tuesday night. CSU scored three goals in the 3-2 victory, with all four goals scored in total this year coming from four different players. The team lost to Michigan State to open the year and fell to Bowling Green at home as well. 

#HLMSOC PRESEASON POLL
The Horizon League preseason poll was announced on Tuesday, with Green Bay coming in 7th place out of 11 teams. GB finished sixth in the spring, and was fourth in back to back seasons following the regular season title in 2017.
