WINNING AT WISCONSIN
Green Bay shocked Wisconsin in Madison on Sunday night, scoring two goals in the final three minutes to earn the 2-1 win. The Badgers took the 1-0 lead after a quick goal 2 minutes into the second half, but it was the visiting Phoenix that had the last laugh with two quick goals. Ruben Linden scored on a free kick that squirted through the opponents wall, before Bernard Assibey Rhule scored on a deflected ball that ricocheted past the keeper. GB now owns the edge in the all-time series with Wisconsin 20-19-1, which was the first meeting since 2016. 

LEAGUE AROUND THE CORNER
The Phoenix will play its Horizon League-opener in just over a week, on September 11 at home against Cleveland State. Green Bay will have played just three nonconference games prior to that start, with the Chicago State matchup accounting for the final prep. GB finished 3-4-1 in HL play last spring. 

ABOUT CHICAGO STATE
The Cougars sit at an even 1-1-0, just like GB. They opened the season with a nice 2-1 win over Northwestern before falling to HL-member Detroit Mercy 2-1. CSU has had three different goal scorers so far through its two games. 

#HLMSOC PRESEASON POLL
The Horizon League preseason poll was announced on Tuesday, with Green Bay coming in 7th place out of 11 teams. GB finished sixth in the spring, and was fourth in back to back seasons following the regular season title in 2017.
