ABILENE, TX --The Green Bay volleyball team needed only three sets (26-24, 25-20, 25-20) to beat the Abilene Christian Wildcats Saturday on the road at Teague Center in its final match of the Wildcat Classic.
The non-conference victory improved the Phoenix's overall record to 3-4 on the season.
The Phoenix was led by a double-double from Alexandra Zakutney, who registered 13 kills and 12 digs on the day. Cora Behnke also added 11 kills to help the offense. On the defensive end, Abby Gardner chipped in for GB with 19 digs to go with five blocks from Tiffany Paalman.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Phoenix came out on top of a tight first set, winning 26-24 in a stanza that was tied eight times and had five lead changes.
SET 2 | Green Bay won the second set 25-20 to promptly jump to a 2-0 lead. The Phoenix never trailed by more than five points and grabbed the advantage for good at 8-7 in a set that had just one lead change before the Phoenix took over the lead. The Green Bay offense also got a boost from three aces in the stanza.
SET 3 | Green Bay closed the match in a 3-0 sweep after winning set three. The Phoenix grabbed control of the set early when the score was 2-1 and held the lead the rest of the way to win 25-20. Green Bay led by as many as five points at 15-10 before finishing off the stanza.
UP NEXT: Green Bay heads to North Dakota for three matches at UND. The Phoenix will play two on Friday and one more on Saturday.Â
