STAYIN UNDEFEATED
Green Bay remained undefeated in the nonconference on Sunday, knocking off Chicago State just over 3 minutes into the first OT 2-1. Emily Murphy scored the golden goal game-winner, after CSU answered in the 70th minute to tie up the match. McKayla Kertscher scored the opening goal on a free kick pass from Madeline Cruz in 9th minute and put nine shots on goal to the Cougars' two shots. GB improved to 2-0-1 on the season and will play its final nonconference match of the year against NIU before opening Horizon League play next week.

CRUZING EARLY
Madeline Cruz has been a shining star for GB through three matches this year, scoring a goal and adding an assist as well, notching the game-winner against St. Thomas last Thursday to lift GB at home. This is Cruz's first season in GB, after transferring from Wisconsin. She's played the second-most minutes on the team and will look to keep it going against NIU and into HL play. 

ABOUT NORTHERN ILLINOIS
The Huskies sit at 3-2-0 on the season, and are coming off a nice 1-0 shutout win at Valparaiso on Friday (Sept. 3). NIU has scored at least one goal in four out of five matches so far in 2021, led by Haley Hoppe who has netting five goals already while adding one assist. Hoppe has taken 18 shots and has two game-winners for the side from the MAC. 

UP NEXT
Green Bay will open Horizon League play at home against Robert Morris at 3 p.m. at Aldo Santaga Stadium. The two sides did not meet last spring.
