GREEN BAY, Wis. -- The Green Bay men's basketball team got back in the win column Thursday night with a 69-54 win over the IUPUI Jaguars at the Resch Center.
The Phoenix (3-12, 2-4) had three players score in double figures, led by Donovan Ivory, who finishde with 19 points. Randy Tucker tacked on a career-high 17 points and Kamari McGee chipped in with 12 points. Green Bay grabbed 34 rebounds to IUPUI's 27, led by Tucker's eight boards. The Phoenix also put in work on the offensive glass, turning 10 offensive rebounds into 13 second chance points.
HOW IT HAPPENED
After falling behind early, 14-10, Green Bay ripped off an 18-4 run, grabbing a 28-18 lead with 3:09 left in the first half. The Phoenix preserved most of that lead heading into the half, holding an eight-point lead at 34-26 after Donovan Ivory made a pair of free throws. Ivory led all scorers with 15 points in the half.
Green Bay kept its lead intact, controlling the majority of the second half. The Jaguars pulled to within five after Azariah Seay drained a jumper that made it a 46-41 game with 11:38 left. However, the Phoenix would start to pull away after Randy Tucker answered Seay with a bucket of his own. Green Bay ended the game on a 23-13 run, led by Tucker, who scored 15 of his 17 points in the second half. Green Bay shot well from three-point range in the half, hitting five shots from deep to score 15 of its 35 points.
