HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - The Green Bay men's soccer team secured its first win of the Horizon League season with a 2-0 win over Northern Kentucky Saturday. Keegan Walker opened the scoring before Andrew Paolucci doubled the Phoenix lead in the second half.
Green Bay improved to 4-2-3 overall and 1-1-1 in Horizon League play following the win. The Phoenix sits at four points in the table after three matches, which is tied for fourth place.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The first half was a back-and-forth affair, with both teams finishing the half with three shots. Neither team capitalized on those three opportunities, as the Phoenix and Norse went into the half scoreless.
It didn't take long for GB to jump out in front in the second half, scoring in the first minute back in play. Keegan Walker scored for the Phoenix, his second in as many games. Luca Contestabile assisted the goal. The Phoenix tacked on another on a goal from Andrew Paolucci -- his third goal of the season -- in the 79th minute, assisted by Jake Parish.Â

- Green Bay received two yellow cards.
- Tobias Jahn collected six saves for the Phoenix out of seven total Norse shots.
- Green Bay registered five shots on goal.
- Paolucci leads the Phoenix with three goals this season. Walker is tied for second with two.
- Contestabile leads GB with three assists on the season, which is tied for fifth-most in the HL.
COMING UP
GB will play their final non-conference game of the season when they travel to Western Illinois on Tuesday, Oct. 4 at 3 p.m.
