Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Green Bay Shutout at Detroit Mercy, 2-0

DETROIT, Mich. – The Green Bay women's soccer team was defeated by Detroit Mercy Saturday afternoon, 2-0. The Titans scored two second half goals to secure the victory.

Green Bay dropped to 2-6-2 overall and 0-2-2 in Horizon League action, while Detroit Mercy improved to 5-6-1 overall and 3-2-0 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Green Bay kept Detroit Mercy off the scoreboard in the first half despite facing eight shots. The Phoenix also threatened, taking three shots in the half. Both teams couldn't find the back of the net and went to intermission tied 0-0.

Soraya Puerto-Khalil scored just over five minutes into the second half for Detroit Mercy. The Green Bay offense had trouble getting going in the second half, finishing with just one shot. Detroit Mercy put the game away in the 72nd minute on a goal from Julie Ann Piechocki.

Annie Mason had a good day in goal for the Phoenix, recording six saves.

GAME NOTES

  • Green Bay and Detorit Mercy both received one yellow card.
  • Mason totaled six saves for the Phoenix out of 24 total Titans shots.
  • Detroit held Green Bay to one shot on goal.
