INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Green Bay men's soccer team fought tooth and nail, but ultimately lost at IUPUI 1-0 on Saturday. The Jaguars scored a 66th-minute goal that ended up being the difference.
Â
The result will play a part in the two teams battle for a Horizon League Championship spot, as they were both tied on six points coming into the day. IUPUI now has nine points in fifth place while the Phoenix will stay on six points and sit just one point back of sixth place, which is the cutoff for HL Championship qualifiers.
Â
HOW IT HAPPENED
There was nothing to separate the two sides after the first half. Green Bay had four shots while IUPUI had five, but neither capitalized on their chances, going into halftime scoreless.
Â
The Jaguars got a goal from Spencer Holland in the 66th minute that proved to be the difference. The Phoenix registered 13 shots in the loss, five of them on goal. Green Bay faced 15 IUPUI shots, five of them on goal.
