FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- The Green Bay men's soccer team grabbed a crucial three points with a 3-1 win on the road at Purdue Fort Wayne Saturday afternoon. Josh Johansen scored his first two goals of the season and Luca Contestabile added a third for the Phoenix. With the win, Green Bay moved to nine points, just one point outside of the top six in the Horizon League.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Both teams had five shots in the first half. Green Bay made theirs count, grabbing a 1-0 lead on Johansen's first two goals of the season in the 36th minute. Tony Manciu assisted the goal.
The Phoenix doubled its lead in the 71st minute with another goal from Johansen that was also assisted by Manciu. Luca Contestabile made it three for GB in the 80th minute, scoring off of a free kick. The Mastodons avoided the shutout with an 87th-minute goal from Christian Leon.

- Green Bay received one yellow card.
- Purdue Fort Wayne received three yellow cards.
- Tobias Jahn totaled one save for the Phoenix out of nine total Mastodon shots.
- Green Bay put five shots on goal while PFW put two on.
COMING UP
Green Bay continues its quest for a Horizon League Championship spot when they host Robert Morris in their final regular season home game of the season on Saturday at 7 p.m. The Phoenix will then close out the regular season at Cleveland State on Wednesday, November 2 at 1 p.m.
