Green Bay Shutout at Purdue Fort Wayne

PURDUE FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Green Bay Phoenix women's soccer team fell on the road 2-0 Sunday afternoon at Purdue Fort Wayne. GB will stay on five points in league play while the Mastodons go into a tie for first with 15.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
Green Bay kept Purdue Fort Wayne off the scoreboard in the first half before allowing two goals in the second. The first came just after halftime when the Mastodons' Bella Reitano buried a penalty kick in the 48th minute. The hosts put the game away and doubled their lead in the 81st minute on a Gigi Ricciardi goal.
 
Annie Mason was great in goal, tying a season-high 10 saves. The Phoenix totaled eight shots, four of them on goal. Green Bay faced 29 Purdue Fort Wayne shots, 12 of them on goal.

UP NEXT
The Phoenix will close out the regular season with a pair of home Horizon League matches. They'll host Northern Kentucky on Saturday, October 22 on Senior Day before they close the regular season with Milwaukee on Wednesday, October 26 on Student-Athlete Night.
