That lead stayed the same for several minutes until the hosts finished the final five and a half minutes outscoring the Phoenix 16-7 to take a 42-24 heading into the break.

The Phoenix responded early in the second half with a 12-2 run that included six points from Meyer to cut the St. Thomas lead to eight at 44-36. The Tommies would eventually respond with 7-0 run of their own to take their lead back up to 15 with 10:27 to go.
