Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Green Bay Stumbles 81-65 to Oakland

ROCHESTER, Mich. --The Green Bay men's basketball team got a season-high 17 points from Randy Tucker but lost 81-65 to the Oakland Golden Grizzlies on the road Saturday afternoon.

Tucker tied his career-high scoring output in the loss for the Phoenix (2-13, 1-3 HL). Cade Meyer added 11 points, and Ryan Wade chipped in with 10 points off the bench, all in the second half.

Oakland (4-11, 2-2 HL) was led by Jalen Moore, who made 13 free throws en route to 25 points. Chris Conway also contributed 14 points and nine rebounds.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The game was tight in the early going, with Oakland holding a 9-8 lead after six minutes. The Golden Grizzlies then scored nine points in the next two minutes, leading 18-10 with 11:52 to play in the half. Garren Davis had five quick points for the Phoenix, who closed the gap to four points, 22-18, with 7:24 to play. From there, Oakland gradually opened its lead to 10 with 4:35 to play. The gap stayed even from there, with Zae Blake and Nate Jenkins providing late baskets. The Golden Grizzlies held a ten-point halftime lead, 38-28.

Oakland doubled its lead in the opening 4:50 of the second half, going on a 17-7 run. GB then responded with a 7-0 run of its own, with Davis contributing a triple and Tucker contributing five points with two free throws and a three off a Donovan Short steal. However, Oakland's offense consistently produced, and six points from Moore in the time after the run helped stymie any Phoenix momentum. Wade scored four more points for Green Bay in the final minute, bringing the final score to 81-65.
