Adam Owens Named Men's Basketball Director of Basketball Operations

GREEN BAY, Wis. – Head coach Will Ryan has announced the hiring of Adam Owens as the Director of Basketball Operations for the Green Bay men's basketball program. Owens will be responsible for player management, program operations, and will assist in setting up on-campus recruiting and coordinating official and unofficial visits for potential recruits.

"After sifting through the impressive list of quality applicants for our next Director of Basketball Operations, Adam Owens' name quickly emerged as a candidate worthy of an interview," Ryan said. "We were looking for an individual with prior experience and a strong knowledge of the job and all that it entails. Adam has worked for some great coaches all in a relatively short amount of time as a Student Manager, Graduate Assistant, Video Coordinator, and Director of Basketball Operations."

Owens, a native of Fort Wayne, Ind., most recently served as the Director of Player Development at Eastern Carolina after serving as the Pirates' video coordinator in 2020-21. Owens came to ECU after serving as a graduate assistant at the University of Missouri – Kansas City during the 2019-20 campaign. In his only year in KC, he aided in one of the biggest turnarounds in Division I as the Roos went 16-14, in a season cut short by COVID-19, after going 11-21 the previous season.

"Adam is accustomed to wearing multiple hats and juggling many tasks at once which has enabled him to hit the ground running," Ryan continued. "He came highly recommended to us as a loyal, hard-working, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic candidate. In a short amount of time, it's evident why, as those traits have stood out to the staff and me. We are thankful to have Adam on board and are excited for him to settle into the Green Bay community."

Owens graduated from Butler University in 2019 with a degree in human communication and organizational leadership. He served as a student manager for the men's basketball program for four years with the Bulldogs, taking part in three NCAA Tournaments. In the summer of 2018, he also served as a basketball coach at IMG Academy where he assisted in daily practice planning and individual skill development.

"I am really thankful to Coach Ryan and staff for bringing me on," Owens said. "I'm fired up to be here in Green Bay working alongside such high-character people in a great city."
