GREEN BAY, Wis. – The new-look Green Bay men's basketball team is eager to get back in action this winter. The team took one step closer to its 54^th season in program history with the release of the 2022-23 schedule Tuesday morning.

Green Bay will open up the season hosting two exhibition games against St. Norbert College (Oct. 25) and Michigan Tech (Nov. 3).

From there, nine of the 11 non-conference games are on the road. Green Bay will visit Indiana State on Nov. 7 to open the campaign before traveling to the nation's capital to take on Georgetown on Nov. 12. The Phoenix follows that up with a weeknight battle in the Wisconsin state capital against the Badgers on Nov. 15.

For a second consecutive season, GB will participate in the Jersey Mike's Classic, with the preseason tournament returning to Jamaica in 2022-23 after being hosted in St. Petersburg, Florida a year ago. This year, the Phoenix faces new NCAA Division I opponent Queens University of Charlotte on Nov. 18 before playing again on Nov. 20 against Utah Valley or Morgan State. The Jamaica Classic will welcome GB, Georgetown, La Salle, Loyola-Marymount, Morgan State, Queens, Utah Valley, and Wake Forest to the Caribbean island. The Montego Bay Convention Centre in Montego Bay, Jamaica, serves as the host site. More information on the tournament, including tickets, can be found here.

Green Bay will return home to the Kress Center for a Nov. 26 meeting with long-time foe UIC, which is no longer in the Horizon League and now competes in the Missouri Valley Conference. The Phoenix will also host Milwaukee (Dec. 1) and IUPUI (Dec. 5) in the first Horizon League contests of the 2022-23 season.

GB will visit the Windy City on Dec. 6 when they face Loyola-Chicago before coming back to Titletown to face Kansas City on Dec. 10. The final three nonconference games are all on the road against St. Thomas (Dec. 13), Stanford (Dec. 16), and Oregon State (Dec. 18).

The Phoenix will set their sights on conference play for the rest of the season, closing with 18 consecutive Horizon League contests.

Green Bay is led by sophomore Cade Meyer, who averaged 9.1 PPG last season. Phoenix fans will also get to see Donavan Short, a freshman who was Wisconsin's No. 9 ranked player in his class and will surely feature in head coach Will Ryan's squad. Brayden Dailey, who redshirted last year, will also look to make an impact. Dailey averaged 22.8 PPG in his senior campaign at Cuba City high school in southwestern Wisconsin after posting 23.2 PPG in his junior season.
