Thursday's matchup against the Screaming Eagles will be the second time GB and USI have met. In the lone game the programs played each other, on Sept. 12, 1992, the Phoenix won 1-0. Meanwhile, Green Bay and Bradley will face each other for the first time since Sept. 3, 2011. GB is 1-0-1 against the Braves, including 1-0-0 at home. The matchup against Bradley also wraps up a stretch where the Phoenix begins the 2022 season by playing three of the first four contests at home.

ABOUT SOUTHERN INDIANA
Mat Santoro enters his 14th season at the helm of the USI program, displaying a winning record of 109-98-24 since 2009. After dropping their season opener to Belmont, the Screaming Eagles were leading Northern Kentucky 2-0, but the Norse stormed back with three unanswered to win 3-2.

Nick Faddis leads the charge for USI, scoring one of the goals for the Eagles, along with an assist and a team-leading three points. He is tied with two other Eagles with a team-leading two shots.

ABOUT BRADLEY
Jack DeRose is in his 26th season with Bradley, boasting a 258-211-57 all-time record. The Braves narrowly defeated Northern Kentucky in their season opener, thanks to two goals in the final 10 minutes. Last Sunday, they lost to Kansas City but made a late comeback attempt when Pepe Mellado scored a goal in the 88th minute. Bradley averages 11.5 shots per contest, with just under 35-percent of them on goal. Defensively, the Braves have given up twice the number of shots on goal but have scored the same amount of goals as their opponents.

The Braves have spread the wealth on offense, led by the trio of Kaloyan Somov, Patrick Fishburne, and Gonzalo Gil. While Gil has totaled just 64 minutes, he and Fishburne are tied with a team-leading four shots. On the other hand, Somov leads BU in goals (2), points (4) and is tied with Fishburne with a team-leading two shots on goal.

RUBEN REAPING AWARDS
Green Bay began the 2022 campaign with a pair of games at Aldo Santaga Stadium. GB defeated Eastern Illinois 2-1 and tied Chicago State 0-0. Ruben Linden was instrumental in allowing just one goal to EIU and was named the Horizon League Defensive Player of the Week. Linden also scored on of the two Phoenix goals against the Panthers.

ALLOW ME TO INTRODUCE MYSELF
The Phoenix got younger this last offseason, with head coach Jeremy Bonomo bringing in 20 recruits. In total, there are 14 true freshmen on the squad. Jake Parish, one of the newcomers, has been active for GB in the first two games, recording an assist, one point, and three shots. The Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, native has started the first two contests, posting a total of 88 minutes.

WINNING WAYS
Green Bay's win over Eastern Illinois and draw versus Chicago State marks the seventh time since the 2010 season the Phoenix has been unbeaten in their first two games. It includes a stretch of four consecutive seasons from 2017 to spring 2021. Four of the first six times GB has done so have been winning seasons. The Phoenix is 25-13-7 at home in those six seasons.
