MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. - Thursday's Horizon League opener between the Green Bay women's soccer team and Robert Morris ended in a scoreless draw. The result moves the Phoenix to 2-3-1 on the year and 0-0-1 in HL play. Both Green Bay and Robert Morris will receive one point in the conference standings.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Robert Morris got out on the front foot, outshooting Green Bay 8-3 in the first half. GB's Madeline Cruz was booked for a yellow card in the game's 41st minute.
The Colonials controlled the second half as well, taking nine shots to two from the Phoenix. Annie Mason kept made multiple acrobatic saves to keep the Phoenix in the game, finishing with match with nine total.
GAME NOTES
- Cruz was the only player booked Thursday afternoon.
- The Colonials put nine shots on the Green Bay goal.
- Zoey Pagels was the lone Phoenix to record a shot on goal.
- Annie Mason, Elle Hill, and Sierra Morgano played all 90 minutes for GB.
ON THE HORIZON
Green Bay will continue HL play this weekend when they host preseason favorites Oakland at Aldo Santaga Stadium on Sunday. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m.
