SAINT PAUL, Minn. - The Green Bay men's soccer team drew first blood, but ultimately drew St. Thomas on the road Wednesday night. The draw moved GB to 3-2-2 overall.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Michael McDougall scored his first goal of the season and got the Phoenix out in front with a solid strike past the Tommies keeper in the sixth minute. The hosts found an equalizer just nine minutes later from Jacek Nickowski.
Both teams threatened in the second half, with the Phoenix putting three shots on goal while the Tommies put on two. However, neither was able to find the back of the net in the second half and the game ended at 1-1.
GAME NOTEA
- Green Bay received two yellow cards, one to Kolton Prater, and another to Josh Johansen.
- Tobias Jahn recorded five saves for the Phoenix out of six total Tommies shots.
- Green Bay totaled four shots on goal while the Tommies had six.
UP NEXT
Green Bay will go back to Horizon League play next week when they host Detroit Mercy on Wednesday, September 28 at 1 p.m. Following, the Phoenix will travel to Kentucky to take on Northern Kentucky on Saturday, October 1 at 2 p.m.
