GREEN BAY, Wis. – The Green Bay women's basketball program and head coach Kevin Borseth have announced the addition of Brehna Evans, a graduate student from St. Cloud State.
Evans was one of the top point guards in the NSIC (Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference), notching her 1,000th career point last season. She also scored over 1,000 career points at West De Pere High School.
"We are excited Brehna has chosen to play her final year of eligibility at home close to family and friends while pursuing her master's degree", said Borseth. "Brehna brings us experience and depth at the point guard position."
The De Pere native was the back-to-back NSIC Defensive Player of the Year winner for St. Cloud State, becoming the first Husky to win the award. Evans was part of a defense in the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons that allowed opponents to shoot no more than 30.6-percent from beyond the arc. She exploded onto the scene during her sophomore season in 2019-20, garnering NSIC Player of the Week and Wolters Kluwer Athlete of the Month awards.
At West De Pere High School, she was an All-Conference player in basketball and medaled at the Wisconsin Track and Field State Championships, graduating as the school record holder in the 800m run, 1600m relay, and 3200m relay.
