HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - The Green Bay Volleyball team racked up 13 blocks on the way to a 3-0 victory (25-18, 25-18, 25-21) over the Northern Kentucky Norse Friday night on the road at Regents Hall. The Phoenix has won nine-straight matches, and is 5-0 in Horizon League play. 

Cora Behnke finished with nine kills on the day to lead the Phoenix attack. Callie Gentry posted 14 digs and 21 assists, and Angie Gromos had eight blocks to help lead the team defensively.

HOW IT HAPPENED
SET 1 | The Phoenix fell behind in the first set 18-15, but rattled off 10-straight points to take the set 25-18. Three of the 10 points in the run came from Alexandra Zakutney aces.

SET 2 | GB took the second set 25-18 to grab a 2-0 lead. The Phoenix opened up as much as an eight-point lead at 21-13 before closing out the set. Green Bay's front row had a solid defensive performance, blocking six Northern Kentucky attacks in the frame.

SET 3 | Green Bay took the third set and sweep the match, 25-21. GB trailed by as many as six points but took the lead for good at 15-14 in a set that had just one lead change before the Phoenix took over in the second half. Green Bay's front row had a solid defensive performance, blocking seven Northern Kentucky attacks in the stanza and capitalizing on 11 Northern Kentucky attacking errors.

GAME NOTES
» Zakutney had a match-high four aces in the win.
» The Green Bay front row did a great job defensively, picking up 13 blocks in the match.
» The last time the Phoenix swept the Norse was 11/18/2018.
» Green Bay's nine-match win streak is the second-longest for the program since the Phoenix won 10 in a row in 2018.
» The Phoenix has won 25 of its last 28 sets.
» This is the first time Green Bay has had six sweeps in the last 11 games since 11/4/2019.

ON THE HORIZON
The Phoenix will look to keep their winning streak alive tomorrow afternoon against Wright State. The Phoenix and Raiders are the only two teams left in the Horizon League with an unbeaten conference record.
