Green Bay Comes Up Short at IUPUI

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Green Bay women's soccer team fell to IUPUI on Sunday afternoon, 0-1. Green Bay dropped to 0-9-3 overall and 0-5-1 in Horizon League play. The Jaguars improved to 9-2-3 while staying undefeated in HL action with a 3-0-3 record.

HOW IT HAPPENED
IUPUI dominated the offensive side of the field right out of the gates. The Jaguars fired seven shots, including two on goal, in the first 15:40, but Mallorie Benhart and the GB defense kept the game scoreless. Later on in the frame, Aleah Reesman ripped GB's first shot on goal, but Ashton Kudlo made a save in the bottom corner of the goal, keeping it 0-0. IUPUI outshot the Phoenix 7-1 in the final 14:53 of the half, but it remained scoreless going into halftime. GB's lone shot was from Reesman, who just missed wide left.

There wasn't much offense coming out of the locker room until Sam Slimak scored her fifth goal of the season, tying for IUPUI's team-high. Lanie Weikert tried to respond in the 59th minute with her first shot on goal, but Kudlo tallied another save. Zoey Pagels got in on the action and recorded two shots, but neither could find the back of the net. GB had two final chances near the 80-minute mark. Vera Asare and Pagels each had a shot on goal, but Kudlo was solid on the defensive end and recorded two more saves. Green Bay's solid effort came up short in a 0-1 loss to IUPUI.
