WELCOME TO TITLETOWN
Green Bay welcomes four newcomers to the 2023-24 squad. The Phoenix bring a trio of true freshmen (Maren Westin, Sophie Lahti, and Meghan Schultz) and one transfer (Natalie Andersen, IUPUI). Westin and Andersen are guards, while Lahti and Schultz bring height to the forward position. Schultz stands at six feet, four inches, surpassing Kendall Renard as the tallest player on the team. The Phoenix once again boast a roster of mostly homegrown talent. Of the 13 players on the roster, 10 are from the dairyland. Only Westin (Becker, Minn.), Lahti (Pine City, Minn.), and Jenna Guyer (Circle Pines, Minn.) are not from Wisconsin.

BORSETH IN THE BOOKS
Head Coach Kevin Borseth is on the brink of making history, closing in on 800 career wins, needing just two more to reach the milestone. Borseth began his career in 1987 with Division II institution Michigan Tech, winning a whopping 225 contests in 11 seasons. The 2023 Horizon League Coach of the Year also needs just 14 more wins to get his 500th win as the head coach of the Phoenix. Additionally, Borseth is 27 wins shy of 600 victories in the Division I landscape.

SHARING IS CARING
The Phoenix shared the ball well during the upset victory over No. 22-ranked Creighton in Omaha, Nebraska on November 16. Three players scored in double figures, and six Phoenix had two or more assists. Green Bay had seven players grab multiple rebounds, including five players with three or more. GB tallied their first victory over an AP Top 25 team since November 30, 2018. The win over Creighton also marked five years since GB's upset win over Missou, who was ranked 16th.

SHINING SCHILTZ
Senior guard Cassie Schiltz starred in GB's dominant 85-52 win over UMass on Thanksgiving Day. Schiltz dropped a team-high 16 points, shooting 5-8 in just 23 minutes of action. She filled the stat sheet, shooting four-of-five from the charity stripe while grabbing three rebounds and chipping in with two assists. The Luxemburg-Casco, Wis. native chipped in with eight points in the upset win over Washington State last Saturday.

JOINING THE RANKS
Green Bay began receiving votes in the latest edition of the AP Top 25 poll, released on November 27. Of the 13 teams getting votes, GB is tied for the seventh-most with Alabama, tallying six votes. Washington State, who the Phoenix upset last Saturday, leads the pack with 55 receiving votes. Creighton, who Green Bay also upset nearly two weeks ago, has the second-most votes with 44.

GB IN THE AP POLL
It's been several years since the Phoenix was ranked in the Top 25, despite a lengthy history of being in the poll. Green Bay was last ranked inside the top-25 during teh 2017-18 season, ranking as high as 19th before ending the season 22nd. GB was also among the best the in the country during the 2016-17, 2014-15, 2012-13, 2011-12, 2010-11, 2009-10, 2006-07, 2004-05, and 2002-03 seasons.
