SERIES-LY SPEAKING
Green Bay took the series lead all-time against the Jaguars after beating them earlier this season. GB averages 2.9 goals per contest against IUPUI. The matchup will be the first neutral site contest between the two teams since 8/25/2006, when GB won 3-2 in Lexington, Kentucky. The squads last met on October 21st this season, when the Phoenix won 2-1 in Indianapolis. Lukas Hackaa scored in the first half for IUPUI before
Chris Album tied the game for Green Bay.
Tommy Coughlin buried the go-ahead score just over six minutes before the final whistle.
DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE
Last season, the Phoenix posted a conference-best 0.81 GAA (goals against average). GB's defense was led by two-time Goalkeeper of the Year and two-time Defender of the Year
Hesron Barry. Barry is the lone senior on Green Bay's roster. Green Bay boasts a remarkable 0.875 GAA coming into the Horizon League Championships.
COUNTRY STARS
Green Bay ranks among the best in the nation in numerous other categories. The team is 39th in save percentage (.774) and is tied for 42nd in shutout percentage (.375). Jahn has surrendered just 13 goals in over 1,330 minutes of action.
ALBUM DROP
Chris Album has dominated the 2023 campaign. He put everyone on notice when he racked up three goals in a 7-0 win over Southern Indiana on September 1, posting the first hat trick for the program since Audi Jepson notched five goals against Viterbo in 2014. Green Bay's seven goals were also the most since that same game, which GB won 8-0. Â Album added to his incredible season by scoring the tying goal in Green Bay's 3-1 win over Oakland on October 28.
WE'RE TALKIN' ABOUT PLAYOFFS???
The Phoenix secured the No. 2 seed with a 4-2 win over Milwaukee last week. It is Green Bay's second-highest regular season finish under ninth-year Head Coach
Jeremy Bonomo, reaching first place in 2017. The Phoenix is seeking their first semifinal victory since November 9, 2017, when GB defeated Detroit Mercy 2-1.
