HOW IT HAPPENED
Green Bay opened up an early 8-2 lead on buckets from Kondrakiewicz, Levy, and Butler. The second quarter featured five lead changes. After momentarily losing the lead at 19-20, a Kondrakiewicz layup made it 21-20 with 6:47 to play in the frame. Jenna Guyer contributed four points later in the quarter to give GB a 25-22 lead, but PFW battled back and took a four-point lead in the closing minute of the quarter. Cassie Schiltz sank a three with eight seconds to go to bring the Phoenix within one at halftime, 30-31.
GB came out on a tear to open the third quarter. Levy made three from downtown in the first five minutes, with two of those tucked in a 10-0 run from 9:04 to 7:27. A Schiltz triple with 4:55 to go gave the Phoenix a ten-point lead - 48-38 - their biggest of the game. The Mastodons responded with a 10-2 run, closing the Phoenix lead to 50-48 with 1:23 left. A put-back from Guyer as time expired gave Green Bay a 56-50 lead at the end of the third quarter. The Phoenix shot an even 50 percent (10-of-20) from the field in the third quarter.
Levy continued her scoring in the fourth quarter, scoring another six points. After GB held a nine-point lead early in the quarter, PFW gradually closed to within three points with 1:27 to go.
