Reesman Scores First Career Goal as Phoenix Draws DePaul

CHICAGO, Ill. -- Green Bay women's soccer hit the road Friday for their first road game of the 2023 season at DePaul. The two teams battled, but the game ended in a 1-1 draw, moving Green Bay's record to 0-2-1 overall.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Phoenix got on the board first in the 22nd minute thanks to the first collegiate goal from freshman Aleah Reesman. Sophomore defender Sierra Morgano also recorded her first career assist on the goal.

The Blue Demons evened the match when they drew a penalty that was converted by Ellie Mink in the 27th minute. The 1-1 score held to the end of the game. DePaul turned up the pressure in the second half with 11 shots, but the Green Bay defense held strong and the game ended in a draw.

GAME NOTES

  • Payton Lang had a standout game in net, recording a career-high seven saves for the Phoenix out of 22 total Blue Demons shots.
  • Green Bay registered three shots on goal compared to DePaul's eighth.

UP NEXT
Green Bay will head to the sunshine state next week as they visit North Florida on Thursday, August 31 and Stetson on Sunday, September 3.
