GREEN BAY, Wis. - Green Bay Phoenix Athletics annual Phoenix Fund Fall Drive is official underway.  Recently members of the Phoenix Fund Board, athletics staff, coaches, student-athletes, and other Phoenix supporters gathered at The Bar to kick off the 2023 version of the Phoenix Fund Drive.


 
The Phoenix Fund is the driver of Phoenix Athletics, with a mission of providing our 14 programs and 240 student-athletes with scholarships, as well as academic, competitive, and program support. Investing in the Phoenix Fund helps give Phoenix student-athletes the best opportunity to excel in competition, in the classroom, and in the community. 
 
The annual Fall Drive focuses on engaging with alumni, fans, supporters, and friends of the university with the goal of supporting the Phoenix Fund philanthropically. The Phoenix Fund Board plays an active and vital role in the drive by connecting with other community members asking for their continued support or interest in helping to support. 
 
These funds are used to enhance academic services, health and wellness, scholarships, and recruiting among other valuable services for academic achievement and competitive preparation. It is because of the support of many that Green Bay student-athletes continue to be amongst the best in the nation in academic achievement, touting 47-consecutive semesters with a department wide 3.0 GPA. 
 
Last year's annual drive raised over $640,000. This year the Phoenix Fund Board has set a goal of $750,000 to continue to elevate the support and resources for our student-athletes.  Phoenix Fund renewal letters and information are hitting mailboxes and the support is starting to come in. 
 
Please consider making an impact in the lives of Phoenix student-athletes, of which many will be making an impact in Northeast Wisconsin well beyond their years at UWGB.
