Green Bay Never Trails in Win over Wright State

Second straight win comes in front of second-largest home crowd this season

GREEN BAY, Wis. – Four Phoenix reached double figures as the Green Bay women's basketball team took home an Alumni Day victory over Wright State, 77-59. Before the game, Green Bay Athletics retired the jersey of the program's all-time leading scorer, Chari Nordgaard Knueppel.

Jasmine Kondrakiewicz led the way for the Phoenix (17-4, 10-1 HL) with her second straight 20+ point game of the season. She also finished with seven rebounds, five assists, and three steals. Cassie Schiltz, Maddy Schreiber, and Natalie McNeal each finished with 13 points on the day. Green Bay never trailed in Sunday's contest.

Wright State (12-10, 6-5 HL) was led by 17 points, six rebounds, and five assists from Alexis Hutchison.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Phoenix jumped out to a quick 10-0 advantage in the first 2:24, capped by a Kondrakiewicz three. Jasmine scored five of GB's points. Wright State fought back and went on a 9-3 run, cutting the deficit to four with 4:50 left in the quarter after Rachel Loobie made a layup. Hutchison made a three at the end of the frame with Green Bay leading 25-15. GB continued a strong first half in the second quarter when Schiltz tallied seven points. Her mid-range shot extended GB's lead to 34-23 with 5:46 left in the half. WSU's Lauren Scott made a triple not long before the halftime buzzer, but the Phoenix still led by 14 at the break.

Kondrakiewicz dominated out of the locker room, scoring the first five points of the half for GB. The Phoenix went on a 12-4 run over the middle part of the stanza, taking a 26-point lead after a Schreiber layup. The Phoenix had at least a 15-point advantage in the fourth quarter, cruising to the 77-59 victory.

GAME NOTES
» Sunday's attendance of 2365 was the second-most in a game this season.
» The Phoenix shot 47.9 percent from three-point range, knocking down nine of 19 long-range attempts.
» Green Bay had a 32-31 edge on the boards.
» GB outscored the Raiders in the paint 36-32.
» The Wright State bench scored 18 points to GB's 14.

COMING UP
GB has some time off before their next game on Saturday at Cleveland State, which is scheduled for 1 p.m. The Phoenix will host NKU on Thursday, Feb. 8, and IUPUI on Saturday, Feb. 10 for the annual PinkZone game.
