Green Bay Softball Announces Full 2024 Schedule

GREEN BAY, Wis. – The start of the college softball season is just over a month away, and the Green Bay softball team and head coach Sara Kubuske have announced the full 2024 schedule. Green Bay will start the season at the Mardi Gras Mambo in Youngsville, Louisiana from February 9-11.

Head coach Sara Kubuske enters her fourth season at the helm of the Phoenix and will look to lead the team to their third-straight Horizon League Tournament appearance for the first time since 2014-16.

The Phoenix will have a new-looking roster for the 2024 season, with 12 newcomers and 11 returners. The new Phoenix consists of 10 freshmen and two transfers.

"We are excited to get the 2024 campaign underway," Kubuske said. "I think it is a great schedule that will challenge us early on to help prepare us for Horizon League play. We have a young and eager team that is looking forward to stepping up to the challenge."

Last season the Phoenix finished with a 22-31 record, and 12-10 HL record, which earned the No. 5 seed in the Horizon League Championships. Green Bay beat no. 4 seed IUPUI in the tournament's opening round before falling in consecutive games to No. 1 Oakland and No. 6 Youngstown State. Highlighting the returners for Green Bay is All-League First Team and Horizon League Freshman of the Year, Paige Hanson. In her first season at Green Bay, Hanson slashed .293/.377/.407.
