Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Green Bay Comeback Bid Falls Short Against Campbell, 72-66

GREEN BAY, Wis. – The Green Bay men's basketball team trailed Campbell by 20+ points at home in the second half on Saturday afternoon before eventually bringing the game back to a two-point game late. Unfortunately, the Phoenix was never able to take back the lead and fell 72-66 at the Resch Center.

The Phoenix was led by a 20-point, nine-rebound performance from Anthony Roy, while Marcus Hall had 13 points and four rebounds of his own. Mac Wrecke was solid once again off the bench, finishing with seven points and five rebounds in 24 minutes.

Campbell was led by Oak Creek, Wis., native Jasin Sinani, who scored 22 points to go with eight rebounds. The Fighting Camels had three others finish in double figures, with Colby Duggan and Cam Gregory scoring 11 and Bragi Gudmundsson finishing with 10.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The visitors came out strong to start, scoring the first eight points and holding Green Bay scoreless until the 15:43 mark when Ben Tweedy made a layup. GB battled back and tied the game up at 13 all with 10:21 to go in the half after a Roee Oselka layup. The two teams played to a tie again at 26-26 before the Fighting Camels finished the half with a 7-1 run to take a 33-27 lead into the break.

The Phoenix cut that six-point lead down to two after a Foster Wonders' layup at 18:58. However, following that was an 18-0 Campbell run that broke the game open. The Phoenix bounced back themselves, however, outscoring the Fighting Camels 32-14 over the next eleven minutes. A pair of Preston Ruedinger free throws capped the run and cut the Campbell lead to 65-63 with 2:56 to go in the game. That would be as close as GB got, as Campbell defended and hit free throws to secure the 72-66 win.
