GREEN BAY, Wis. – Head Coach Kayla Karius has announced
Sarah Bronk as an assistant coach. Bronk remains with the Phoenix after spending the last 17 seasons under Matt Bollant (2007-12) and Kevin Borseth (2012-24).
"Sarah has been a mainstay in Green Bay's success over the past 17 years," said Karius. "She has great knowledge of our program, great recruiting connections in the state, and a character and personality that really connects with our players. I'm so happy that Sarah has chosen to remain with the program because she will be invaluable to our success in the future!".
The Winona, Minnesota native began her coaching career as the girl's basketball and softball coach at Dover-Eyota High School in southeastern Minnesota. She has also served in similar capacities at Winona Cotter (Minn.) High School and St. Peter (Minn.) High School.
Bronk has been influential in Green Bay's success, helping Green Bay claim 12 Horizon League regular season championships and 10 tournament championships, most recently in March 2024. She has also been part of 10 NCAA Tournaments and two WNIT Tournament appearances with the Phoenix. Bronk was on the coaching staff that led the program to an NCAA Sweet 16 run in 2010-11, a team that had Karius (formerly Tetschlag) as a student-athlete, and was a key part in recruiting two Blue Star Basketball Top 50 nationally-ranked classes (2009, 2014). Her recruits have collected numerous postseason honors, including five Horizon League Cecil N. Coleman Medal of Honor awards, four Chancellor's Leadership Medallions, three CoSIDA Academic All-District, 44 All-Conference, and three All-Americans.
