ABOUT THE PENGUINS
The Phoenix will look to make it five wins in a row against YSU on Thursday. Green Bay has had success against Youngstown State in recent years, winning eight of the last 10 matchups, including seven of the last 10 on the road. GB smacked Youngstown State 94-57 in the Horizon League Quarterfinal last March, getting 16 points from Cassie Schiltz to lead all players. YSU has had an up-and-down 2024-25 campaign, entering tomorrow's contest with a 7-8 record overall. The Penguins have dropped their last two games. Melissa Jackson is in her first year as YSU's head coach and sixth overall as a collegiate HC. Jewel Watkins paces the team with 13.5 points per game. Sophia Gregory is another player to watch, leading YSU in rebounds (7.3 RPG) and blocks (1.3 BPG). 1. WINNING WITH KARIUS
First-year head coach Kayla Karius is finding success back at her alma mater. Karius has guided the Phoenix to an 11-5 start overall and a 4-1 start in Horizon League play, with GB extending its win streak to four last Saturday, the longest of the season. She is just two wins from reaching 50 in her young head coaching career (third season overall).

Fastest to 10 wins - Green Bay HC history *since becoming Division I program in 1987*
1. Carol Hammerle - 12 games (1987-88)
2. Matt Bollant - 13 games (2007-08)
3. Kayla Karius - 15 games (2024-25)
4. Kevin Borseth - 19 games (1998-99)

2. CASH MONEY CASS
Cassie Schiltz had a spectacular night against Northern Kentucky last Thursday.  She shot 5-for-8, with all of her attempts coming from beyond the arc. Schiltz's five three-point makes are the second-highest in a single game in her career. Cassie is tied for 9th all-time in program history with Frankie Wurtz (2015-2020) with 163 made three-pointers. She was named Horizon League Player of the Week on Monday for the second time in her career. It is the third time a GB player has won the award this season. Natalie McNeal (Nov. 25) and Maddy Schreiber (Nov. 18) also received the accolade. 3. BIG J STEPPING UP BIG
Jenna Guyer has been a crucial part of Green Bay's success this season. 'Big J' posted 18 points against Parkside on December 21, a career-high, before following it up with a new career-high 22 points against Northern Kentucky last Thursday. On Saturday against Wright State, she grabbed a career-best 10 rebounds. Guyer has scored at least seven points in 11 of GB's 16 matchups.

4. CAREER YEAR FOR CALLIE
Callie Genke is on pace for a career year. No. 12 currently has a career-high in field goal percentage (49.02 percent; five percent above the next highest), 47.9 percent from beyond the arc (9.5 percent above the next highest), and 84.2 percent from the line (3.5 percent above the next highest). Callie also averages a career-best 9.4 points per game. Her best game of the season came in Puerto Rico against Virginia, when she posted a season-best 18 points on 6-of-12 shooting.

5. ALL WE DO IS WIN, WIN, WIN
Green Bay is just three victories shy from its 1,100th win since the program's inception in 1973. A win over IU Indy (formerly IUPUI) on December 4 gave the Phoenix 450 wins all-time between the program's time in the MCC and Horizon League. GB currently sits at 453 conference wins all-time, by far the most in the conference. Milwaukee (276) and Detroit Mercy (272) trails the Phoenix.
