Phoenix Readies for #HLMSOC Semifinal Match

GREEN BAY, Wis. – The Green Bay Men's Soccer team will face off against Purdue Fort Wayne in a Horizon League Championships Semifinal on Wednesday. The Mastodons are the league's No. 2 seed and will host the Phoenix at Bishop John M. D'arcy Stadium on the campus of the University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne on Wednesday at 3 p.m. CST.

Green Bay comes into the matchup after a 2-0 win over No. 6 seed Oakland on Sunday in the Horizon League Quarterfinal. Chris Album scored a put-away goal in the 83rd minute to seal the Phoenix victory.

Green Bay is 5-7-3 all-time against Purdue Fort Wayne, including a 1-0 victory over the Mastodons on October 18 earlier this year. This is the first time Green Bay and Purdue Fort Wayne have faced off against each other in the Horizon League Championship Tournament. The Phoenix is 7-4 all-time in the Horizon League Semifinals. They've split their last two appearances, in 2023 and 2024.

The Phoenix has been dominant as of late, winning four straight matches and five straight against conference opponents. Green Bay's only loss in the last six games came in a non-conference loss to St. Thomas, 2-1.

With a win, Green Bay would secure a spot in the Horizon League Championship to face the winner of No. 1 seed Cleveland State and No. 5 seed Robert Morris on Wednesday. This would be Green Bay's second appearance in the HL Championship game in three seasons. The Phoenix won the conference tournament in 2023.

The contest will be streamed on ESPN+, and live stats will be available. For complete Championship information, visit this website.
