LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Green Bay men's basketball team opened the 2025-26 season at Allen Fieldhouse against the No. 19 Kansas Jayhawks on Monday night, falling 94-51.
 
Marcus Hall led the Phoenix with 17 points and four assists while C.J. O'Hara finished with nine points.
 
Flory Bidunga and Darryn Peterson led the way for Kansas, pouring in 23 and 21 points, respectively. The Kansas offense was efficient from the floor, converting on 56.9-percent of its shots compared to GB's 28.6-percent.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
After Green Bay took a 3-2 lead after a late shot clock LeBron Thomas three, Kansas took the lead with a three of their own and never looked back. That three kickstarted a 9-0 run that would set the tone for the rest of the half. The Jayhawks eventually built their lead to 20 at 31-11 before O'Hara went on a 6-0 run of his own to bring it back to 31-17 with 5:09 in the first half. The hosts would widen their lead to 48-27 before the half's end.
 
Kansas outscored the Phoenix in a similar fashion in the second half, 46-24. The Jayhawks shot 53.9-percent from three in the half en route to the 94-51 win.
